The location of Daryan Dam is near the village of Daryan, in the Kermanshah province, built on the Sirwan River. The goals of the dam include water diversion for irrigation and power generation. Construction began in 2009 and is expected to be completed by 2018. The employer is the Iran Water and Power Resources Development Company. The dam is an earth-fill type with a clay core, with a height of 146 meters from the lowest point and 169 meters from the foundation. It has a length of 368 meters, a spillway volume of 9,700,000 cubic meters, and a reservoir capacity of 316,300,000 cubic meters. The covered area is 10 square kilometers, with a maximum reservoir level of 800 meters. The power generation capacity of the dam will be 210MW.
