Organization: Penghu Municipality
Location: Penghu City, Taiwan
Target Market: Governmental Institutions
Product: SCR368
Application: Access control at entry points
As the Penghu Municipality aims to focus on and promote the tourism industry in the city, the western Taiwan archipelago has faced increasing construction activities in recent years. This expansion has resulted in a huge volume of waste being generated in the area. To address this, the municipality allocated a site near the area for a waste disposal site. However, due to insufficient local monitoring, the site quickly became a danger to the surrounding environment and the local population. As a result, the municipality sought to implement surveillance cameras to organize and monitor the area.
The SCR368 infrared camera by Messoa was used to monitor the entry points of the site, which spans 2 hectares with a volume of 60,000 cubic meters of waste. The cameras were mounted on frames near the entrance gates for better image capture.
One camera was installed at a height of three meters to capture images of incoming vehicles based on type, shape, and license plate number. Another camera was installed at five meters to allow control center personnel to accurately monitor the truck loads.
Since the lighting at the site is very insufficient, the SCR368 camera by Messoa was selected due to its high resolution of 700 TV lines and its ability to function in very low light conditions with infrared capability. The camera’s cable management, waterproof features, and low maintenance requirements made it an ideal choice for the easy setup of this project. The camera’s performance was enhanced by Digital WDR and Lumi 3 technology, delivering high-detail and crystal-clear images even under extremely poor weather and lighting conditions.
