Application: Monitoring conditions in low light while being resistant to weather conditions
Tahwin Dam was built in 1977. It serves as a water storage reservoir, flood control for low-lying areas, power generation, and facilitates water sports like rowing.
In addition to security needs, the dam must also be monitored for leaks and wear and tear. However, adding this system to the dam presented many complexities. Officials requested the installation of cameras in a very dark tunnel. The dam’s tunnels are wet, damp, and often have weak lighting with high contrast. They also wanted a camera positioned right next to the water outlet of the dam. These cameras needed to be resistant to water, moisture, and dust. Furthermore, they had to capture high-quality images under low-light conditions.
Ultimately, the SCB261 camera was chosen for this project. This camera provides clear images in low-light conditions. Using Lumi technology, the camera captures very clear images in darkness with minimal noise.
