History:

The Tehran International Book Fair is held annually in mid-May and is one of the largest cultural events in Iran. The first Tehran International Book Fair was held in 1987 at the Tehran International Exhibition Center (located at the end of Chamran Highway), continuing there until 2006. Since 2007, the fair has been held at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla in the Abbasabad area. In 2016 (the 29th edition), the venue moved to the Shahr-e-Aftab Exhibition Complex in southern Tehran.
